SHELBY WAS FOUND AS A TINY PIGLET ALONG THE ROADSIDE VERY NEAR A LIVE AUCTION HOUSE. SHE MOST LIKELY FELL OFF THE TRANSPORT TRUCK TAKING HER TO AUCTION WHEN SHE WAS JUST DAYS OLD.

BESS (DAUGHTER) AND TRUEHEART (MOTHER) WERE SURRENDERED TO THE SANCTUARY BY A FAMILY WHO ORIGINALLY INTENDED TO USE THEM FOR DAIRY. HOWEVER, THE FAMILY REALIZED HOW TRAUMATIZING IT WAS TO THE COWS AND SO INSTEAD WENT VEGAN.
